Project Meghraj : Guidelines for Government Procurement Cloud Services

1. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India has introduced the “Meghraj Policy” providing direction to all the government offices (including municipalities) to adopt cloud services. Government of India aims at procuring services from the cloud service providers. The policy aims at moving towards a digitized environment in all government agencies and departments.

2. The security agencies and Armed forces are likely to have strict policies for adoption of these cloud services. The government can also impose penalties for these service providers for non-compliance which can vary from 10% to 30%.
